Getting a dragon as a gift at the age of eight was a custom
in that realm. However, the little witch wanted a different
dragon. She wanted the most colorful, biggest, and fiercest
dragon, and with more horns—a nonexistent dragon.
Desperate, the warlock father became himself the dragon
she wanted. Thus, the little witch grew up and was able
to choose her true dragon and follow her own destiny.
To depict dragons and witches, Jean-Claude Alphen used
vibrant and sometimes gloomy colors. The drawings are big
to represent the size of the dragons. (NMS)
